Paul Burstow hears Worcester Park's Worries8.48.00am GMT Tue 6th Jan 2009 Local MP Paul Burstow met with Worcester Park residents at The Hamptons last night (Monday) to hear concerns they have and promised to take action to address their worries. During the meeting on The Hamptons estate Mr Burstow discussed with members of the Hamptons Residents Association their concerns. The issue of access to GPs came up with the difficulty people in Worcester Park have experienced trying to get on a local GP list and the shortage of GP provision in the area as a whole. Mr Burstow raised this problem in a parliamentary debate last month and is putting pressure on the Primary Care Trust to look into issue. A lack of nursery and pre-school places is also worrying The Hampton's residents, and Mr Burstow proposed surveying locals about both the health and school issues to provide data for effective lobbying of the authorities. Speaking after the meeting Mr Burstow said: "Today's discussion has been really useful for me and I'm planning to take action immediately to follow up on the concerns that have been raised. "I always enjoy meeting constituents and am keen to hear first hand from them what they'd like me to be doing for their community. Access to GPs and nursery education are not just issues for residents on The Hamptons they are a real concern for many residents in the Worcester Park area."
