POST OFFICE LEAFET EXPOSES HUNT THE POST OFFICE FARCE12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 6th Jun 2008 Sutton and Cheam MP, Paul Burstow, has hit out at a Post Office leaflet that fails to tell former customers of the Gander Green Lane Post Office where their nearest post office is. Instead of mentioning the Post Office in the St Nicholas Centre it directs residents to the main Post Office in Grove Road and a sub-post office in Upper Mulgrave Road. The MP believes that the 'hunt for a post office leaflet' is either deliberately missing the St Nicholas post office because it is already too busy or because it is next on the hit list. Commenting Paul Burstow MP said: "The leaflet is a farce to fail to mention the post office in the St Nicholas Centre makes no sense. For many of the people effected by the closure of the Gander Green Lane post office it is the nearest branch. The problem is that all of the surviving post offices are so busy. Either Post Office bosses are trying to discourage even more people from using the St Nicholas centre branch or this is the first step in yet another round of cuts." ENDS
