Worcester Park Health needs must not go unmet if Hamptons Plans get green light - Burstow1.17.47pm GMT Fri 7th Dec 2007 Local MP, Paul Burstow, is backing local residents in Worcester Park who see plans for a further 147 homes on the Hampton as the 'final straw' for local roads and local services. Council planning officers are recommending to Councillors that permission be granted because it fits with the Mayors planning policies. Mr Burstow has backed local resident's objections, particularly on traffic and access to local health services. In top level meetings with the developer, St James Developments, Mr Burstow expressed concern about the difficulties local people were already experiencing registering with local GPs and the impact further development would have. Mr Burstow said, "For many Worcester Park residents this latest application is the final straw. The pressure on the road network is intense and the annual competition for high school places still leaves too many Worcester Park parents without the school of their choice. "One thing that has come through loud and clear is that local people don't believe existing services can cope. If these plans do get the green light then it is vital that St James plough some of their profits back into the local community and provide the cash to improve primary health services in Worcester Park." ENDS Notes to editors: The Council's Development Control Committee will consider the application at a meeting at the Civic Offices on Monday 3rd December.
