The Liberal Democrats slammed changes to the Tory health team following the Conservative reshuffle today saying that the changes will do nothing to disguise their disastrous policies for the NHS.

Former Shadow Health Minister Andrew Lansley has been promoted and will take over from Tim Yeo.

Paul Burstow MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, said:

"A change of face at the top of the Tory health team will do nothing to disguise their disastrous policies for the NHS.

"The Tories spent years in office running the NHS down and in opposition have spent their time talking it down.

"Andrew Lansley's first task must be to ditch their Patient Passport policy which will cost the taxpayer huge amounts of cash without delivering one single extra operation."
